Bloomington, Ind. — After several years at College Mall, the Pillar Arts Alliance Center is stepping into a new chapter. With our lease coming to a close, our final day in the current space will be Saturday, June 14, 2025. But we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve found a new home down the walkway in the former Victoria’s Secret location. While this spot is a bit more tucked away from the main flow of the mall, we see great potential. It is significantly larger than our current one, which gives us room to grow and reimagine possibilities for the space. We toured the location recently and feel excited at the space’s potential. There’s plenty of work ahead before we’re ready to reopen, but we are embracing this time and look forward to sharing this next phase. Throughout our time at the mall, the Alliance Center has been a hub for exhibitions, performances, workshops, and countless moments of creative connection. We want to reassure our artists, patrons, and supporters: this is not goodbye—it’s simply a move toward new possibilities. As we prepare, our vision remains the same: to create a welcoming, dynamic environment that supports artists and invites community. We’re especially excited about the possibility of recreating a gathering area like our FlexSpace that supports live music, spoken word, small performances, community programming, and more. “The Arts Alliance Center will be leaving its current location, but we see this as an exciting chance to enhance our offerings,” says Carol Rhodes, President of Pillar Arts, “The experience of envisioning new spaces is sparking fresh ideas to continue what we’re doing and grow our roles within the arts community. We are enthusiastic as we begin to write this next chapter. Stay tuned for updates as they develop.” This week, select artwork may be available at a discounted rate at the discretion of participating artists. While this won’t be a storewide sale, we invite visitors to stop by, explore, and experience the creativity that has made the Alliance Center such a special place. Our gallery at By Hand in the Fountain Square Mall will remain fully open and active throughout this entire move. We’re grateful for the continued support and excited to maintain a presence downtown as we prepare our new space in College Mall. With every decision, our members and supporters remain at the heart of our work. Their involvement makes Pillar Arts possible, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has contributed to the Alliance Center—whether by sharing time, art, energy, or encouragement. This space has become more than just an art gallery, which is exactly the feel we aim to create as we begin our move. Stay up to date on the relocation by following us on Facebook and Instagram, as well as subscribing to our bi-weekly newsletter. We’ll continue to share updates, and we look forward to welcoming all into our new space. |
