Before You Apply
The Performance FlexSpace is an open room bookable venue in Bloomington IN, the rear of our Arts Alliance Center gallery. It's a beautiful space for emerging performances, intimate music, workshops, classes, rehearsals, community gatherings, and some screenings. Sound and light are share with the gallery during open hours; full immersion control is not possible during patron hours.

For amplified performances, and complex digital presentations, plan to bring your own equipment. Basic PA and microphone capabilities are available for spoken presentations and small acoustic sets when requested.
Pricing and Booking Details
Book a venue in Bloomington is scheduled in one hour blocks. Your booking window should include 30 minutes for setup before your event, and 30 minutes for cleanup after. For example, a two hour event would require a three hour booking to accommodate prep time.
Multi-day and extended bookings can be arranged, and are handled on a case by case basis. For events and workshops that charge the public a fee, Pillar Arts takes 25% of the ticket sale gross in addition to hourly booking fees. For groups looking for meeting or rehearsal space, you may be eligible to have booking fees waived. For groups and artists looking for zero-fee alternatives, you may be eligible to negotiate contributed volunteer hours for performance space time.
A Pillar Arts membership (individual, student, senior, veteran or group/organization) reduces the hourly fee from $40/hr to $20/hr. If you plan to activate the space more than once in a year, membership and it’s additional perks is worth considering.

Pitch Your Event, Workshop, Meeting, or Performance
You do not have to be a Pillar Arts member to pitch us an event, but membership includes 50% off the hourly rental fee. Pillar Arts is open to revenue sharing negotiations for some events.

Submission + Reviews
Fill out the form below. Submissions are evaluated by our programming committee on a rolling basis. For best results, pitch us your event 3 months out or earlier.

Prepare And Promote
If selected, you'll receive a notification with next steps. This will be when to discuss specific venue rental fees, revenue sharing, and utilization terms, and get the word out about your upcoming event!
