Every First Friday several of Bloomington’s venues and galleries stay open a bit late just for you. From 5 – 8pm area galleries hold special receptions and artistry highlights for all.
If you’re planning to visit the oldest contemporary commercial art gallery in Monroe County during one of your visits, First Fridays and Gallery Walk is the perfect excuse to come see a featured artist or group exhibit, meet the community, and do some local art shopping.
By Hand Gallery is located at 101 W Kirkwood Ave, Suite 109 in Fountain Square, across the street from the historic Monroe County Courthouse square and has been a frequent participant in the gallery walk tourism program. The event is relaxed and social, patrons often visit multiple galleries in a single First Friday.
Once you’re done visiting Bloomington’s galleries, make an evening of it. Grab a bite to eat, get tickets to a live performance. There’s lots to do in Bloomington Indiana, Gallery Walk is just the start!
