Step inside Bloomington's largest contemporary commercial art gallery. Original paintings, woodworking, ceramics, and additional works from Indiana artists. Also during the month our Performance FlexSpace hosts community powered live performances, workshops, and a grand piano anyone can play. Located in College Mall.
The Arts Alliance Center is 8,500 square feet of rotating exhibits, live performance, and new work from Hoosier artists. Come see paintings, ceramics, jewelry, apparel, photography, woodworking and more. The Arts Alliance Center is an open invitation to experience the arts on the east side of Bloomington.
The Arts Alliance Center gallery, exhibits, and receptions are free of charge, all art on display is available for purchase and directly supports Hoosier artists. Some select events and performances may be ticketed.
Current Exhibits
Arts Alliance Center annually hosts at least twelve rotating exhibits in our Spotlight Gallery in addition to several partnered concerts, performances, and screenings in our Performance FlexSpace.
The Performance FlexSpace hosts live music, dance performances, artist talks, workshops, and various other community events and special activations throughout the year. This is the only performance and event venue on the east side of Bloomington, and our community powers an eclectic range of quality arts experiences.

The featured Spotlight Gallery exhibit rotates monthly. The entire gallery experience is redesigned quarterly with fresh arrangement. Displayed work is made by Hoosier artists.
More than 80% of purchase goes directly to the artists. Works range from expertly crafted functionals to beautiful fine art; from beautiful pieces that make perfect gifts to paintings you hang in your home forever.

Located in the vibrant local business hub on the east side of Bloomington, The Arts Alliance Center has sustained local art sales for more than five years.
Opened in 2020, having relocated in College Mall no less than three times, it’s now the largest contemporary commercial art gallery in Monroe County, this beautiful and special gallery showcases the work of local and regional artists, offering a curated collection of handcrafted ceramics, fiber art, jewelry, photography, woodwork, glass, paintings, and more.
The Arts Alliance Center welcomes residents and visitors alike to explore local art, attend events, and connect with the creative spirit of Bloomington. The hub location for Pillar Arts, the Arts Alliance Center continues to strengthen and sustain the arts by connecting artists, cultural organizations, and artistic endeavors with patrons and the public as it continues to grow into a vital anchor for the arts community.
In the rear of the Arts Alliance Center lives the Performance FlexSpace, a dedicated dynamic room that can be set for workshops, classes, special functions, live performances, rehearsals, meetings, exhibits, installations, and screenings. With a below market rental fee of $40/hr ($20/hr for Pillar Arts members) the Performance FlexSpace is the only bookable performance venue in the neighborhood.
The Arts Alliance Center hosts rotating gallery exhibits, live performances, artist workshops, and other community powered events throughout the year. Gallery visitation is free, parking is free. Some performances may be ticketed events.
Every November and December, Pillar Arts hosts our annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair indoors at the Arts Alliance Center. Makers, artists, and craft vendors fill the galleries on weekend dates from Black Friday weekend to just before Christmas.
The Arts Alliance Center is inside College Mall. Seven minutes east from downtown Bloomington.
