Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington Acquires Historic By Hand Gallery At Fountain Square

Bloomington, Ind. — The Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington (AAGB), a nonprofit organization bringing artists together and connecting to the greater Bloomington community, is proud to announce acquisition of the historic By Hand Gallery at Fountain Square in Bloomington, Indiana. With a legacy spanning 45+ years, By Hand Gallery has been a beloved cultural institution that has supported local and regional artists. “The owners of By Hand Gallery, who have dedicated decades to its success, are now retiring, and AAGB is honored to take on the stewardship of this special space, and continue to display and sell the artwork of its members” said AAGB Board President Henry Leck. ”AAGB’s vision for art in the community aligns with the gallery’s longstanding commitment to showcasing diverse works of art and providing a space for artists to connect with the public.” “Effective February 1st, AAGB will manage two gallery spaces in Bloomington, further solidifying our role as a hub for the arts in the city and region. The addition of By Hand Gallery complements our existing initiatives and underscores our commitment to the cultural landscape of Bloomington,” said Executive Director charles r pearce. “We are proud to have been dedicated artisan members and owners with a vision of selling quality artwork made by local and regional artists. We are excited to be passing on the management of By Hand Gallery to the Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington. We are grateful to our patrons and friends from Bloomington and beyond who have supported us for all these years,” said owners Linda Knudson and Suzanne Halvorson. “Thank you very much to our loyal patrons and incredible exhibiting artists,” they both added. By Hand Gallery, known for its curated selection of hand-crafted artwork by local and regional artists, will continue offering unique and original pieces across a variety of mediums.
