We’ve got some exciting things in the works. Firstly, we’re thrilled to announce the official launch of our brand-new website: pillararts.org! The site is now live and ready for you to explore. You’ll be able to find information about our events, artists, and galleries all in one place. We hope you’ll take a moment to check out what we’ve been working on.
Gallery Walk is happening tomorrow from 5–8 pm and we’d love to see you at Pillar Arts By Hand. We are continuing Light’s Embrace, a vibrant and captivating exhibition by Michal Ann Carley. Stop by to view the artwork, connect with the artist, and enjoy the atmosphere of Gallery Walk alongside all the other incredible participating galleries in Bloomington.
Lastly, we’ve spent the past month cleaning, organizing, and laying the groundwork for the next chapter of Pillar Arts Alliance Center. Our upcoming plans focus on customizing the space to reflect Pillar Arts’ identity. We’re also excited to welcome Upland Plein Air for an exhibition in August—stay tuned for details! We look forward to continuing this project and sharing more updates with you soon.

Big things are happening behind the scenes as the new Pillar Arts Alliance Center space takes shape! Over the past few weeks, artists, board members, volunteers, and friends have come together to paint, clean, prepare the space.
Now, artwork is being hung on the walls, and the transformation is well underway. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has shown up with time, tools, and heart. Your support has made all the difference.
While we’re still aiming for an early August reopening, Pillar Arts By Hand in Fountain Square Mall remains open with regular hours and events, including tomorrow’s Gallery Walk featuring Light’s Embrace by Michal Ann Carley.
We look forward to opening our doors again soon and sharing a space that’s even better equipped to support creative connection, collaboration, and growth. Stay tuned on Instagram, Facebook, and our newsletter for more updates. Thank you for being part of our arts community!

ARTS ALLIANCE CENTER SPOTLIGHT ARTIST
ROSE BRENNER
Rose Brenner is a self-taught painter who discovered her passion for art after retiring and now paints every day. Her vibrant, expressive style blends inspiration from masters like Van Gogh, Monet, and Tiffany, and she often works quickly with several pieces in progress at once.
Her subjects range from bold florals and serene lily ponds to energetic cityscapes and glowing desert scenes. Whether painting outdoors or in her home studio, Rose captures light, color, and movement in a way that brings each scene to life. Her goal is to create art that’s joyful, approachable, and affordable for everyone.

Maureen Pirog discovered her passion for glass art, and hasn’t looked back since. She quickly developed a unique style that utilizes light and color. Her work features crushed translucent glass that creates shimmering, multifaceted surfaces—pieces that truly come alive when illuminated.
Committed to craftsmanship and collaboration, Maureen partners with local artisans to create custom stands that beautifully complement her glasswork. Her vibrant, colorful creations are showcased at the Bloomington Creative Glass Center, Pillar Arts Alliance Center in College Mall, and Pillar Arts By Hand in Fountain Square Mall.
